I’M TOTALLY FLOORED !
Setting the foundations for styling starts way before you select colour palettes and furnishings. You build design from the ground …. or in this case, the floor up.
Visually flooring represents approx. 30% of the colour palette which makes it the perfect jump-off point for setting the style and mood of your property … and demonstrates the importance of getting it right. Put as much thought into what’s underfoot as what is above it and the result will be a cohesive and wholistic melody that sings throughout the entire home.
Think of the traffic flow of the area too. High traffic like entrances and hallways may require more robust flooring while bedrooms and sitting rooms can take softer more comfort driven options.
Changing flooring often involves lots of upheaval, mess and disturbance so consider functionality as well as looks and of course… timing is everything so choose a time when it will impact your family and home life the least (think working-from-home, exam times, pets etc)
